Women’s role hailed by Kolar DCU

KOLAR: Kolar District Cooperative Union (DCU) President Byalahalli Govinde Gowda hailed the role of women in bringing a legislation to ban liquor in the State. This proves the power of women’s unity, he said, while speaking at a function organised in Boodikote village, as part of Cooperative Week on Monday. Mr. Govinde Gowda appreciated women’ self-help groups for prompt repayment of loans to the banks. DCU, Deepa Mahila Sangha and Janapriya Mahila Okkoota jointly organised the programme. — Staff Reporter
