Vehicles, houses damaged in rain

No casualty reported; official has visited the spot



MANGALORE: A house and a few vehicles parked on its premises were damaged when a retaining wall of a neighbouring building collapsed on them at Dambel near Ashoknagar here on Monday night.

Heavy rain on Monday is said to have caused the collapse of the wall of a building which fell on the house of John Samuel.

As a result, the house of Mr. John Samuel was damaged.

Three two-wheelers and an autorickshaw, which were parked on the premises of the house, were damaged, according to a revenue official of Mangalore City Corporation, who visited the spot.

Mr. Samuel said, eight people were there in his family but all of them had gone out on Monday.

Urwa police said they did not receive any complaint in this regard.

According to the revenue official, no application for compensation had been received at the revenue section of Mangalore City Corporation till Tuesday.
