Ushering prosperity

Akshaya Tritiya or Akshaya Tadige is round the corner and it is time to usher in prosperity. Considered one of the four most auspicious days, Akshaya Tritiya falls on the third day of the bright half of Vaishakh (Shukla Paksha). The word “ Akshaya ” means that which never diminishes. Hence, it is believed that fresh or new beginnings made or valuables bought on this day would bring luck and success to a family. People also believe that Parashurama, the sixth incarnation of Lord Vishnu was born on this day. Barley, the ingredient of Indian dishes was created on Akshaya Tritiya . On this day, people bathe in a holy river, indulge in charity, perform japa and offer barley in a sacred fire. They also offer barley preparations to the deity.

Though people invest in other assets on Akshaya Tritiya , the sparkling yellow metal termed “evergreen” by jewelers, is still the most sought after valuable for investment on this day. For Indians, gold jewellery remains the ultimate fashion statement. We are the largest consumers of gold in the world and it is often said that we are born with an extra gene known as “gold gene”.

Many shops in Bangalore are giving attractive offers to their customers. Customers have a twin advantage.

They can chose the design and also avoid the last minute rush. The advance booking scheme offered by jewelers allows Bangaloreans to select the jewellery of their choice and pay the amount on Akshaya Tritiya day.

To beat the soaring price, the customer can avail the booking day rate or the rate on the Akshaya Tritiya day, whichever is lower.
