Teachers, parents shaken

Bangalore: The four deaths on Indiranagar 100-ft road have shaken the teachers, parents and students of the New Horizon School, which is situated close to the accident site.

S.N. Vishweshwaraiah, founder of the New Horizon Educational Institution, pointed out that the Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike had dug up the footpath and this was causing problems to the students and the public at various points on the 100-ft road.

He also complained that parking vehicles on the footpath and dumping construction material there were forcing people to walk on the road, thereby risking their lives.

He said that despite a series of representations, the authorities had not taken action. “The BBMP has not taken action even after the Ministers asked it to look into the problems and take action,” he said, pointing out that many schoolchildren had met with accidents recently.
