Sriramulu supporters set effigies of Congress leaders on fire in Bellary

Supporters of Health Minister B. Sriramulu, led by the corporators, on Thursday burnt the effigies of Congress leaders, Siddaramaiah, R.V. Deshpande and D.K. Shivakumar, in protest against the insult meted out to their leader during the Congress padayatra.

The supporters, a majority of them women, came out in a procession in the Radio Park area and burnt the effigies.

Toorpu Yellappa, Deputy Mayor, H.R. Sanjay, and former Mayor, Haseenabi, among others, lead supporters.

Meanwhile, a large number of Sriramulu supporters in Cowl Bazaar area, tonsured their heads expressing solidarity with their leader.
