Siddalingaiah lauds Manohara Granthamala ’s contribution

DHARWAD: Chairman of the Kannada Book Authority Siddalingaiah has said that Manohara Granthamala not only published quality literature but also started a tradition of literary discussion.

He was presiding over a function to release of four Kannada books published by Manohara Granthamala here on Sunday.

Lauding the publishing house for bringing out quality Kannada books, Mr. Siddalingaiah said that the role of Manohara Granthamala in the publishing history of the State was seminal. Earlier, Editor of Deshakala Vivek Shanbhag released the books Tukkappa Mastara written by Chandrakanth Kusanur, Gadiyanka Kudimudda by Lingadevaru Halemane, Sahitya Lokada Suttamutta by Giraddi Govindaraj and Neermadala Hoo Bitta Kaala, Parvati Aital’s translation of a book by Kamala Surayya.

Mr. Shanbhag said that the publishing house was instrumental in cultivating reading habit among the people of the region. Mr. Govindaraj, Mr. Halemane, Mr. Kusanur and Ms. Aital spoke about their respective books.
