HASSAN: The former Public Works and Energy Minister H.D. Revanna has said that the Janata Dal (Secular) Government had worked hard to ensure all-round development of the State.

Addressing presspersons at the taluk Patrika Bhavan in Arsikere on Monday, he criticised Bharatiya Janata Party MLA Basavaraj for not doing anything for the welfare of the taluk. He said Rs. 75 crore had been released for constructing a Government first grade degree college in Arsikere and Banavara and a Karnataka Power Transmission Corporation Ltd. Divisional office in Arsikere.

He said that despite BJP leader B.S. Yeddyurappa being Finance Minister and K.S. Eswarappa Water Resources Minister, both did not solve the people’s problems.

Mr. Revanna also said that Rs. 25 crore had been sanctioned for construction of the Banavara-Huliyar Road, Rs. 10 crore for a national highway that passed through Arsikere, Rs. 1.25 core for laying of water pipes in Arsikere town and Rs. 200 crore for roads under a scheme sponsored by the National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development.
