Rail Budget disappoints HKCCI

Special Correspondent

GULBARGA: The Hyderabad Karnataka Chamber of Commerce and Industry (HKCCI) on Wednesday expressed its disappointment over the Railway Budget presented by Minister Mamata Banerjee.

Reacting sharply to the proposals, president of the HKCCI Umakant Nigudgi said the Minister had disappointed the people of the Hyderabad Karnataka region by not approving their demands such as for a railway divisional headquarters in Gulbarga.

He termed the budget West Bengal-directed and as not representing the entire country’s interests.

All new projects had gone to West Bengal and those for Karnataka had gone to the Old Mysore region.

He, however, welcomed the Ministry’s proposal to carry out survey work on the Belgaum-Bagalkot-Raichur route.
