HUBLI: MLA of Hubli-Dharwad East Assembly Constituency Virabhadrappa Halaharavi has said that four proposals to start three government high schools and a degree college in his constituency were before the State Government for consideration.

Addressing presspersons here on Wednesday, Mr. Halaharavi said that there was demand for high schools at Gabbur, Nekarnagar and Bidnal and accordingly, proposals had been sent to the Government. Considering the demand, another proposal for establishing a government degree college at Ghantikeri had been submitted, he said. He said that he would prevail upon the Chief Minister to sanction the proposals. Mr. Halaharavi said his constituency comprised 20 wards of Hubli Dharwad Municipal Corporation and proposals on taking up development works under the MLA’s Local Area Development Fund were at various stages of approval.

“Some development works had been sanctioned and they would be taken up soon,” he said.
