Probe sought into transfers

GULBARGA: The Karnataka Rakshana Vedike on Thursday urged Governor Rameshwar Thakur to order an inquiry into “indiscriminate” transfer of police officials in the State. President of the vedike Arunkumar Patil, in a memorandum addressed to the Governor and submitted to the district authorities here on Thursday, said that in less than four months 847 police personnel had been transferred. Recurring transfers in the Police Department had hampered the maintenance of law and order situation in the State.
