Prime Minister urged to solve Hogenakkal row

SHIKARIPUR: Chief Minister B.S. Yeddyurappa said here on Saturday that he had written to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh seeking early settlement of the dispute arising out of the Hogenakkal project proposed by Tamil Nadu.

In a brief chat with presspersons at the helipad here, Mr. Yeddyurappa said that he had requested the Prime Minister to convene a meeting of all chief ministers soon to discuss measures to be initiated to tackle terror attacks, including invoking of the Control of Organised Crime Act.

The Chief Minister said that extensive security was being provided to dams and other vital installations in the State in the light of terror threats.

Mr. Yeddyurappa said that elections to the Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike would be held within six months.

The Cabinet would consider request for enhancement of the minimum support price for maize in its next meeting, the Chief Minister added.
