BANGALORE: Eighteen police and 12 Fire and Emergency Services personnel have been awarded the President’s medal for distinguished and meritorious service on the occasion of the Republic Day.

The police officials who have been awarded medals for distinguished service are Inspector-General of Police (Eastern Range) H.N. Sathyanarayana Rao; Additional Commissioner of Police (Law and Order), Bangalore, M.R. Pujar; and Deputy Superintendent of Police (Finger Print Bureau), Mangalore, S.A. Khadar.

The firemen who have been conferred with the medal for distinguished service are Chief Fire Officer K.U. Ramesh, Assistant Fire Officer K.P. Chikkaiah and Fireman S. Poovappa.

The police officials who have been conferred with the medal for meritorious service are Deputy Inspector-General of Police (Lokayukta) Pronab Mohanty; Joint Commissioner of Police (Bangalore) Alok Kumar; Deputy Inspector-General of Police (Railways) R.S. Hari18 har; Deputy Commissioner of Police (North East) Basavaraj Malagatti; Superintendent of Police, Gulbarga, B.N. Neelagar; Assistant Inspector-General of Police R.B. Mohan Reddy; Commandant, Karnataka State Reserve Police 9th Battalion, P.C. Hiremath; Deputy Superintendent of Police C.P. Janawad; Deputy Superintendent of Police S.P. Balaji Singh; Assistant Commissioner of Police (Wireless) A. Raghuveer; Assistant Commandant, KSRP, M.G. Nagalingaiah; Police Inspector B.J. Sirurmath; Incharge Police Sub-Inspector Ananthaiah; Assistant Reserve Sub-Inspector T. Dyave Gowda; and Reserve Sub-Inspector M. Puttaswamy.

The firemen who have been conferred with the medal for meritorious service are Chief Fire Officer N.R. Markandeya; District Fire Officer K. Shankarappa; Fire station Officer D.R. Ananda Rao; Assistant Fire Station Officers K.M.D. Shaiulla, A.D.Gowda, K. Raja Shetty and Munikrishnappa; Leading Fireman C. Chaluvaiah and Fireman K. Devaiah.
