Staff Correspondent

BIDAR: People can now check whether currency notes in their possession are fake at select police stations. This is part of an initiative to check the circulation of counterfeit currency in Bidar district, a press release said here on Tuesday.

On an experimental basis, the Police Department has installed fake-notes detectors in 28 police stations across the district.

Superintendent of Police N. Satish Kumar on Tuesday said people could bring suspect notes to the police station nearest to them and get them examined. Machines had been installed as per instruction from IGP, he added.
