Over 29,000 applications received from residents

Final electoral rolls to be published on July 11

Krishnagiri: The district administration has so far received 29,655 applications seeking inclusion of names in the final electoral rolls.

Of them, 6,979 applications were received in Hosur, 10,518 in Thally, 3,179 in Kaveripattinam, 6118 in Krishnagiri and 2,861 in Bargur, said Collector Santhosh Babu here on Wednesday.

Similarly, a total of 366 applications were received for deletion and 251 applications for part-to-part changes.

Electors whose names were left out and those who have completed 18 years as on January 1, 2007 may submit applications along with their passport size photographs for inclusion at the taluk offices concerned. Forms 6, 7, 8 and 8 A would be provided at the designated places to facilitate applying to the electoral registration officer for inclusion, deletion, correction and part-to-part changes.

Last date

Besides this, Form 001 A would also be kept at the designated location. It has to be submitted along with Forms 6, 7, 8 and 8 A. The last date for disposal of claims and objections is June 21. Printing of supplement would be carried out till July 2. The final rolls would be published on July 11, Mr. Babu added.

According to a Collectorate release, the draft electoral roll is on display at 580 centres in Dharmapuri district to provide information to the public. A total of 17,500 applications were received seeking inclusion of names in electoral rolls. A total of 270 petitions were received for deletion and 350 for part-to-part changes.
