Need to provide quality education stressed

Implement Nali-Kali effectively, teachers told



CHAMARAJANAGAR: Commissioner of Public Instruction G. Kumar Nayak has stressed the need for providing quality education to children so that they become responsible citizens of the country.

He was speaking after inaugurating Shikshanika Samvada programme organised by the Department of Public Instruction at J.H. Patel Bhavan here on Tuesday.

Though the Government and the department had launched several schemes for improving the quality of education provided to children, the responsibility of implementing them lied on teachers, he said.

He called upon teachers to adopt child-centric and activity oriented teaching and learning methods. He explained the importance and objectives of Nali-Kali programme and called upon senior officials of the department to cooperate with teachers in implementing the programme effectively. Speaking on the occasion, Chief Executive Officer of Chamarajanagar Zilla Panchayat G. Jayaram appealed to teachers to work for development of children, especially those belonging to backward classes.

Deputy Commissioner Manojkumar Meena and senior officials of the department were present.
