Laptop scheme for Goa teachers

PANAJI: Chief Minister Digambar Kamat will launch an interest-free laptop scheme for permanent teachers of secondary and higher secondary schools, colleges and Goa University at a function to be held on Friday.

Under the scheme, eligible teachers will get an interest-free loan of Rs. 40,000 to be paid in 50 monthly instalments to purchase a laptop of his/her choice.

The scheme is expected to benefit 7,000 teachers in the State.


The scheme aims at making teachers competent and reorienting them towards technological advancement, said an official of the Goa Education Department here on Tuesday.
