Jatra at Nalwar from Monday

GULBARGA: The annual Sadguru Sri Korisiddeshwar Maha Samasthana Math Jatra will be held at Nalwar in Chitapur taluk on January 26 and 27.

The former Chief Minister N. Dharam Singh will inaugurate the two-day jatra on the math premises in the presence of Murughamath Swamiji Poojya Shivayogi Mahaswamigalu and Minister for Cooperation Lakshman S. Savadi.

Tanarathi Utsav

One of the features of the jatra will be the “Tanarathi Utsav” which will be held at midnight on January 26. Thousands of devotees carrying lamps will converge on the math premises at midnight. Peetadhipathi Poojya Sri Totendra Shivacharyaru of the Korisiddeshwar Maha Samasthana Math will participate in the utsav and bless the devotees.

Leader of Opposition in the Legislative Assembly M. Mallikarjun Kharge will honour industrialist Satish Guttedar, Shivannagowda Malipatil and journalist Ramzan Darga.

The former Chief Minister of Maharashtra Vilasrao Deshmukh will participate in the valedictory function of the jatra.

The former Deputy Chief Minister M.P. Prakash will preside over the function.

Actors Vijayraghavendra and Murali will be special invitees at the valedictory function. Industrialist B.G. Pail, journalists Vadiraj Vyasamudri, S.R. Mannur and others will be honoured on the occasion.
