Hescom storekeeper has Rs. 1 crore assets

Belgaum: A raid by the Lokayukta police on Tuesday on the residences of Vithal Nagappa Khot, a Hescom storekeeper, in Chikkodi town and Kerur village of Chikkodi taluk yielded assets worth more than Rs. 1 crore.

According to sources in the Lokayukta, Mr. Khot joined the erstwhile Karnataka Electricity Board as a meter reader in 1986. So far, assets worth Rs. 1.06 crore have been unearthed in the raid. They included a house, irrigated land and a papaya farm worth Rs. 50 lakh in Kerur, two houses and a shopping complex worth Rs. 35 lakh in Chikkodi town, gold worth Rs. 85,000 and Rs. 12,000 cash. — Staff Correspondent
