Staff Correspondent

HUBLI: N. Gajapathi Rao, Secretary-General of the Life Insurance Agents’ Federation of India (LIAFI), has urged the Centre to create a fund for the benefit of 11 lakh LIC agents.

He was speaking at the educational meet and annual general body meeting of the Dharwad Division of LIAFI at R.N. Shetty Kalyanmantap here on Saturday. Mr. Rao said though the agents contributed a lot to the business of LIC, they were being accorded a step-motherly treatment. He said a committee set up by the Centre to look into the need for amending the 1972 Agents Regulation Act did not hold any discussion with the agents before submitting its report.
