Engineering seat selection process gets under way

Staff Reporter

BANGALORE: The admission round seat selection process for government quota engineering seats began at the Common Entrance Test (CET) Cell here on Wednesday. A total of 1,201 seats were selected on the first day, as candidates from all reservation categories outside the special ones turned up in large numbers.

CET engineering rank-holders from 1 to 1,500 were allowed to select the available seats on Wednesday. Rank-holders from 1,501 to 3,000 can select from the remaining 25,047 seats on Thursday.

Students and parents had lined up at the CET Cell much in advance. They were all keen to get the engineering seat of their chosen discipline in the best college.

Many banks had opened their counters outside offering education loans at low interest rates.

While the top rankers are likely to get the government quota seats of their choosing, others with lower ranks will have to opt for the seats available under the management quota.
