Dental students’ conference begins today

Belgaum: The Belgaum branch of the Indian Dental Association (IDA) will organise a three-day national-level “Indian Dental Students’ Conference 2008” at Dr. B.S. Jirge Memorial Auditorium on the campus of J.N. Medical College here from Friday.

In a press release issued here on Thursday, organising chairman Indushekar K.R. said 1,200 undergraduate delegates from various dental colleges across the country would participate in the conference being organised for the first time by IDA’s Belgaum branch.

C. Bhasker Rao, vice-president of the Dental Council of India, will inaugurate the conference. There will be scientific sessions, scientific paper and poster presentations, and table clinic presentations by students. Ashok Dhoble, honorary secretary, IDA, Mumbai; Lt. Gen. Paramjit Singh, Director General Dental services, Colonel Commandant Army Dental Corps, President’s Honorary Dental Surgeon, New Delhi; Ramanand Shetty, Vice-Chancellor of Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Bangalore; J. Ravishankar, Deputy Commissioner, and S.G. Damle, Vice-Chancellor of M.M. University, will deliver lectures.


Sports and cultural events will be held in the evening on all three days.
