Debt pushes woman, children to death CriMe NOTES

Bangalore: A 26-year-old woman, besieged by financial problems, pushed her two children into a pond and jumped in after them near Kudlubande on the outskirts of the city on Wednesday.

The Parappana Agrahara police said the body of Nethra (26) was recovered from the pond Thursday morning. The rescue team members of the Department of Fire and Emergency Services are searching for the bodies of Sneha (4) and Mahesh (2). Nethra, a labourer belonging to Chennarayapatna in Hassan district, had lost her husband a year ago. Burdened with mounting debts Nethra took the extreme step.

Murdered

A 27-year-old man, missing since Thursday morning, was found hacked to death in his abandoned vehicle at an isolated area on Thursday. The body of Mohan Reddy alias Anil, a resident of Rayasandra in Sarjapur hobli of Anekal taluk, was recovered from his car on Mylasandra Main Road. Electronics City police said Mr. Reddy, a water supplier, left home Thursday morning and did not return.
