Dance programme in Udupi on Sunday

Udupi: The Sri Radhakrishna Nritya Niketana, a dance school, in association with the Sri Krishna Math, will organise “Bharatamuni Jayanti Utsava” at Rajanganga here on Sunday.

Addressing presspersons here on Monday, the Director of Sri Radhakrishna Nritya Niketana, Veena M. Samaga, said the dance school had been holding the fest annually for the last seven years. During the event, students of the school would stage Indian classical dance performances.

This year, students would present a “Rangavalli dance” in Kuchipudi style and also a ballet titled “Dasa Lahari”. Also on the cards was a Bharatnatyam dance programme, she said. The school had been training students in Indian classical dance forms such as Bharatnatyam and Kuchipudi for the last 20 years.

Writers A.S.N. Hebbar and Padekallu Vishnu Bhat would be the guests on the occasion.
