They have been accused of abusing the principal of Government ITI

The Karnataka State Government Employees' Association, Hubli, has condemned the local leaders of the Dalit Sangharsha Samiti (DSS) for using “foul” language against the principal of the Government Industrial Training Institute (ITI) and employees during a protest recently.

Procession

Members of the association took out a procession here on Thursday, condemning the action of the Dalit leaders.

Association president S.B. Patil alleged that DSS leader Maruti Deddamani and his supporters entered the ITI premises recently and abused principal P. Rameshya.

Threat

He said that Mr. Doddamani threatened to file a case against Mr. Rameshya under the SC/ST Atrocities (Prevention) Act.

They also tried to mislead the students against the principal and other staff.

Fear

Their behaviour had created fear among the staff, including women, he said.

After leading the procession to the Mini Vidhana Soudha, Mr. Patil and other office-bearers of the association submitted a memorandum to Hubli tahsildar S.S. Biradar seeking security to ITI employees and steps to ensure peace on the ITI premises.
