Congress wins Bidar Assembly bypoll

Bidar: Raheem Khan of Congress won the Bidar Assembly bypoll by a margin of 10,814 votes against Suryakanth Nagamarapalli of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). While Mr. Khan polled 39,595 votes, Mr. Suryakanth polled 28,781 votes.

The bypoll was necessitated as the former Minister Gurupadappa Nagamarapalli resigned as MLA (Congress) to join the BJP.

Maruti Kashempur of Janata Dal (Secular) polled 21,276 votes and Syed Zulfekar Hashmi polled
