Conference on anti-terrorism

MANAGLORE: The Jamia Markaz Publicity Committee and Sayyed Madani Darga Committee of Ullal will be conducting a conference here on January 3 to discuss measures to combat terrorism. The conference aimed at creating awareness among youth about terrorism, president of the organising committee U.K. Monu Kanachur said.

About 2,000 scholars were expected to participate in the conference to be held at the Pumpwell Masjid Tankhwa.

A meeting of Muslim leaders would be held in the afternoon followed by a public meeting at Nehru Maidan.

Convener of the conference Jhansi Kamil said that about 50,000 people were expected to attend the public meeting.

The organisers would take out rallies in Dakshina Kananda and Udupi districts from December 22 to 24 to create public awareness on terrorism, he said.
