Christmas, New Year celebration at schools School Notes

BANGALORE: The Christmas and the New Year spirit pervaded at many schools that are part of The Hindu’s NIE programme. For a change, Santa Claus climbed down the stairs and distributed chocolates not only to the children but to everyone present. The schools wore a festive look with Christmas trees decorated with baubles and streamers, Christmas flowers and hollies, while the children were in their best festive attire. Pictures of Santa Claus adorned the walls of the classrooms, while the buildings reverberated with “Jingle bells” and other carols.

At Ryan International School, Kundalahalli, the celebrations began with the reading of special message of its chairman A.F. Pinto. This was followed by Bible reading and prayer and a rendition of carols by the school choir. The entire gathering joined in during the rendition. Various cultural events such as dances, songs and a play on Christmas kindled the entire atmosphere. School principal Prashant Fernandez conveyed the Christmas and New Year greetings to the students. Class parties were enjoyed by the students and the teachers alike, and the programme came to an end with Santa Claus coming along and distributing chocolates to one and all.
