Chief Minister plans stay in two villages

GULBARGA: Chief Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy would be staying overnight in two villages in Gulbarga district during his scheduled three-day visit from August 20.

According to Agriculture Marketing Minister Sharanabasappa Dharshanapur, who is the district in-charge Minister, Mr. Kumaraswamy, who would reach Surpur on August 20, would stay overnight at Kannalli after participating in several development programmes and conduct a “Janata Darshan”.

On August 21, the Chief Minister would be visiting Jewargi taluk and make a brief halt at Konasirasagi where he proposed to stay overnight but could not do so because of other engagements.

After attending a public function, accepting the memorandums and hearing the grievances of the people at Konasirasagi, he would leave for Sedam.

He would address a public meeting in Sedam and make a night halt at Dongoan in Chitapur taluk of Gulbarga district.

The Minister said the Chief Minister would participate in the inaugural functions of various development works in Chitapur on August 22 before leaving for Gulbarga. In Gulbarga, he would lay the foundation stone for the vegetable and fruits wholesale market to be built at a cost of Rs. 8 crore on the outskirts of the city at Taj Sultanpur.

Mr. Kumaraswamy would lay the foundation stone for two parking complexes at the Super Market area in Gulbarga on the same day.

He said to ease traffic congestion, the district administration and the Gulbarga Development Authority had decided to take up construction of two parking complexes for two-wheelers and four-wheelers in the Super Market area at a cost of Rs. 50 lakh.
