The victims have been identified Madivalappa Natikar, Sharanappa Myageri, Dannabai and Ishappa Padeknur. The authorities have found body of an eight-year-old girl on the banks of the Doni in Sindagi. Among the 30 villages, Tonshyal is the worst affected by the flood waters of the Doni as water has entered more than 500 houses in the village.

Since the approach road to the village was cut-off, the rescue operation was yet to be started. On Saturday afternoon, the officials sent ration, kerosene and medicines to the village on two tractors.

A few people of the villages, who had managed to come out of the flood waters, told The Hindu that the people had decided to refuse any help from the authorities concerned as they had not taken steps to permanently shift the village even after several pleas.
