The popular TCS quiz for schools is back

BANGALORE: It’s time for avid quizzers and technology enthusiasts to don their thinking caps and exercise their grey cells as TCS IT Wiz is back. The quiz is conducted by technology major Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) and will begin in Bangalore on July 29.

Touted as India’s largest tech quiz for schools, this annual show has become a regular event in the inter-school quizzing circuit for the level of research, the intensity with which teams compete and the sheer numbers that it draws. Last year TCS also launched a dedicated website for the quiz, >www.tcsitwiz.com.

Starting with Bangalore on July 29, TCS IT Wiz will be held in Chennai, Hyderabad, Coimbatore, Kolkata, Bhubaneswar, Delhi, Kochi, Lucknow, Mumbai, Ahmedabad and Pune. This nationwide event is expected to reach out to 2,00,000 students. The 2009 TCS IT Wiz winners will walk away with laptops and the runners-up will be rewarded with cameras and digital photo frames.

S. Ramadorai, TCS Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director, said, “As India’s largest IT company committed to broadening the scope of education, it is our aim to get school students excited about information technology and the possibilities that it can open up for young, inquisitive minds”.
