`Government yet to pay full compensation'

BIDAR: The State Government is yet to provide complete compensation to all the farmers whose lands were acquired in 1975 for constructing a minor irrigation tank in Halhipparga in Bhalki taluk.

Deputy Chief Minister and Minor Irrigation Minister B.S. Yediyurappa accepted this in the Legislative Council on Wednesday.

In reply to a question by a member Quazi Arshad Ali, Mr. Yediyurappa said that Rs. 11.55 lakh had been paid to the farmers till now. The remaining Rs. 19.33 lakh would be paid soon, the Minister said.

Around 168 acres of land was acquired for the purpose, the Minister said, according to a release by Mr. Ali.
