Zerodha opens branch in city

Zerodha, a Benguluru-based online brokerage company, opened its branch in Hyderabad and announced plans to expand operations to other cities in the country.

At a press conference here on Monday, its founder CEO Nithin Kamath said the company with a client base of than 15,000, was facilitating Rs. 2,000 crore worth transactions per day. He said the company’s model was the most attractive for retail traders, who need pay a nominal fixed amount of Rs.20 as fee per transaction, irrespective of the trade size.

Mr. Kamath said customers from Hyderabad accounted for about 10 per cent and the transaction volumes were Rs.300 crore to Rs.400 crore.
