YSR pays rich tributes to Indira Gandhi

HYDERABAD: Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy and other senior Congress leaders on Friday paid glowing tributes to former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi on her 88th birth anniversary. Dr. Reddy visited Gandhi Bhavan and garlanded the portrait of Indira Gandhi.

Addressing a gathering, he said the Congress Government had rededicated itself to serve the poor and the downtrodden and fulfil the aspirations of the former Prime Minister.

Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee president K. Keshava Rao said poverty eradication was the first priority of the ruling Congress Government.

The APCC president exuded confidence that the Chief Minister would give priority to the uplift of the downtrodden.

The Chief Minister later distributed saris to poor women.
