YSR padayatra may be resumed on Sunday

Rajahmundry May 22. The padayatra of the CLP leader,Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy, which was suspended on May 18 because of health reasons, is likely to be resumed either on Saturday or Sunday.

A team of doctors from Hyderabad comprising A.Rajgopala Raju, cardiologist, Sarat, critical care unit in charge, and P. Nagarajuna Rao, gastroentrologist, who had thoroughly checked Dr. Reddy said that his condition had improved and ideally he could resume his padayatra on Sunday. The postural hypo-tension, which was the main hurdle for resuming padayatra, was under control, the doctors' team said. They had also suggested a change in the timings of the padayatra in view of the increasing temperature.

However, a talk with the Congress leaders indicated that Dr. Reddy is keen to resume his padayatra on Saturday. In fact, Dr. Reddy had reportedly asked all party workers to be ready for the padayatra on Saturday. Meanwhile, a team of Congress leaders who included Visakhapatnam Mayor, Rajana Ramani, senior Congress leader Dronamraju Satyanarayan and others, who called on Dr. Reddy, said that the Prajaprasthanam would commence in Visakhapatnam on May 29.

Mr. Satyanarayana told presspersons later that he requested Dr.Reddy to heed the advice of doctors with regard to resuming the padayatra. "he entire Congress party is solidly behind Dr.Reddy," Mr. Satyanarayana said.
