VIJAYAWADA: A lorry driver and a rickshaw puller were injured when the lorry rammed into a godown at Ashoknagar on the Mahatma Gandhi Road on Saturday night.

According to Penamaluru police, the lorry was on its way to Bhimavaram with a fish load. The driver lost control over the steering when the front tyre got punctured and the vehicle rammed into a vacant godown.

A cycle rickshaw that was coming out of the godown was hit by the forceful movement of the lorry. So great was the impact that the rickshaw flung into the air before plunging into a roadside drain. The lorry driver and the rickshaw puller sustained severe injuries and were admitted to Government hospital.
