TTD to begin work on theme parks soon

TIRUPATI. Feb. 26. The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD) has decided to begin work on `theme parks' along the Tirupati-Tirumala ghat road without further delay. The TTD Trust Board at its two day meeting which ended on Wednesday, resolved to go ahead with the work utilising the donations it expected from two leading industrial houses-- M/s. Mahindra and Mahindra and M/s. Zoom Developers (P) Ltd, Mumbai.

The Board resolved to extend darshan and accommodation facilities to the philanthropists who donated Rs. 5 lakhs and above each to S.V. Information Technology Seva Trust and S.V. Balamandir Trust. The TTD received as gift a piece of land measuring 154.24 acres located at Patha Arcot village, Vijayapuram Mandal, Kosala Nagaram in Chittoor district. The Board resolved to concede the request of the donor-- Ponnuswamy Reddiar of Chennai to develop at Tirupati a `Nandanavanam' (garden) with the sale proceeds of the land he donated and supply flowers to the TTD temples.

At Tallapakam village, the birth place of the saint poet Annamacharya in Cuddapah district, which the TTD had adopted for its development, besides a guest house with four rooms, the existing Dhyana Mandir would be remodelled and two more classrooms built in the local ZP high school to cope with the demand.

The Board also sanctioned Rs.15 lakhs to the Rashtriya Sanskrit Vidya Peeth, Tirupati towards annual maintenance and development grant. It also sanctioned Rs.50 lakhs as matching grant to SP Mahila Visvavidyalayam here to help it construct the Science Block.
