Truck driver crushed to death

HYDERABAD, AUG. 1. A truck driver was crushed to death after his lorry hit a passing goods train at a manned railway level crossing near Lingampalli railway station on the City outskirts in the early hours of Sunday.

The Himachal Pradesh registered truck reportedly crashed into the level crossing gate after the driver ignored the signals, and collided with the goods train. The driver, Jashbin Singh, died on the spot. The incident occurred around 3 a.m.

"The level crossing gate was closed and locked by the gateman on duty.

The red signal was on, but the speeding truck driver turned a blind eye to the signals and hit the gate before colliding with the goods train," a spokesperson of South Central Railway said here on Sunday.
