TRS boycotts jubilee fete

HYDERABAD: The loyal and rebel MLAs of TRS avoided seeing eye to eye in a protest demonstration at the Telangana Martyrs Memorial after boycotting the golden jubilee celebrations of the Assembly . The demonstration was also marked by exchange of words . Rebel MLA B. Shara Rani even threw away a letter containing a party whip asking the legislators not to attend the golden jubilee seminar where Lok Sabha Speaker Somnath Chatterjee was the chief guest. Earlier, the loyal and rebel MLAs went separately to the memorial although they took a pledge there to fight for separate Telangana collectively. Union Minister of State for Rural Development A. Narendra led the first group.

Explaining their decision to keep away from the celebrations, the TRS leaders said they were like adding salt to the wounds of Telangana people.
