Thai Deputy PM offers prayers at Tirumala

The Thai Deputy PM, Koran Dabbaransi, at the Tirumala temple on Sunday.  

TIRUMALA: The Deputy Prime Minister of Thailand, Koran Dabbaransi, expressed his desire to know more about the 2000-year-old temple of Lord Venkateswara here.

The Deputy Prime Minister, who currently is on a four-day visit to India, leading a 123-member Thai Government and business delegation, today offered prayers in the temple. On his arrival at the temple complex, he was accorded a warm reception by the temple authorities.

Later, going round the precincts of the temple complex, Mr. Dabbaransi heard from the priests the importance of the temple.

The T.T.D. authorities presented the dignitary a book written by N. Ramesan on the importance of the Tirumala temple. Mr. Dabbaransi, who flew in here in a special aircraft immediately returned to Chennai after the darshan of the Lord.
