Teachers body hails Court ruling

TIRUPATI. Aug. 21. The Supreme Court's dismissal of the Special Leave Petition filed before it by the State Government against the Andhra Pradesh High Court's judgement setting aside the G.O. Nos: 505 and 538 issued by the State Government vis-a-vis the framing of the common service rules and common seniority list for the Government as well as the Panchayat Raj teachers was today hailed by the Chittoor District Government Teachers Association (GTA).

At the meeting of the Association, its president N. Rajendran has said that the Supreme Court while dismissing the SLP had reportedly observed that the two GOs violated the constitution and hence were not maintainable.
