TDP seeks sack of Irrigation Advisor

Special Correspondent

HYDERABAD: Taking exception to the way the Irrigation Advisor, P. Sitapathi, has been attacking it, the Telugu Desam on Saturday sought his dismissal.

Addressing a press conference, the TDP leaders, M. V. Mysoora Reddy and K. Vidyadhara Rao said Mr. Sitapathi was behaving more like a "mouthpiece of the Congress" than as an advisor. "He could as well resign and become the spokesman of the Congress," they added. They alleged that Mr. Sitapathi was speaking in a brusque manner against the Opposition as he enjoyed support of the Chief Minister, Y. S. Rajasekhara Reddy.

They said if the Government continued to treat him as a regular Government employee he should behave as such under the civil service rules.

At a separate press conference, the party leaders -- N. Janardhan Reddy and R. Chandrasekhara Reddy -- rejected the recommendations made by the technical committee on the hydel project on the Rajolibanda Diversion Scheme.
