TDP MLA critical of Government

WARANGAL: The senior TDP leader and MLA Errabelli Dayakar Rao has demanded apology from the Government for detaining and preventing him from meeting the Chief Minister, Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy, during his visit to the district on April 13. Addressing a press conference here on Saturday, Mr. Dayakar Rao said he and other leaders wanted to meet the Chief Minister and bring to his notice the plight of chilli farmers and drinking water problem.

Mr. Dayakar Rao said the Minister, Ponnala Lakshmaiah, had no moral right to criticise TDP leaders. None of the Congress leaders ever highlighted the issues of the district during the visit of Rajasekhara Reddy on three occasions.

It was during the TDP regime, people's representatives of the party always highlighted the problems of people and were after the Chief Minister to implement his promises. Besides failing to function effectively as ministers, Congress leaders failed to utilise the visit of the Chief Minister.
