TDP leader hacked to death

ANANTAPUR Oct. 26. The Telugu Desam Party president of Peddapappur mandal, Vishwanatha Reddy, 35, was hacked to death allegedly by six unidentified persons late on Friday night. Police said that Reddy along with his friends was sitting in front of his house in Chagallu village when the assailants attacked him with hunting sickles killing him on the spot. TDP leaders of the district including the two MPs, K. Srinivasulu and B.K. Parthasarathy, alleged that the murder was the handiwork of Congress leaders.

Our Hyderabad Special Correspondent writes: The TDP president, N. Chandrababu Naidu, has condemned the killing of the party's Pedapappur Mandal president, P. Viswanatha Reddy, allegedly by Congressmen out of political rivalry. A statement issued by the party quoted the TDP chief as saying that the death of Reddy, was a loss to the organisation.
