Steps taken to protect standing crops, says Minister

NIZAMABAD: Minister for Information and Electricity Mohammad Ali Shabbir has reiterated that all steps are being taken to protect the standing crops by extending uninterrupted power supply of seven hours every day.

After inaugurating a 132/33 kv electricity sub-station at Bellal near Bodhan town on Saturday, he said for the seven-hour power supply, 600 mws was being purchased at Rs. 5.10 per unit from Tamil Nadu and Kerala.

The supply was ensured for seven consecutive hours either in day or night as against the earlier decision of giving it in two spells in day and two spells during night, he said.
