SRM ties up with Berkeley engg. college

SRM University, Chennai, and SRM University A.P,. have entered into a strategic tie-up with the College of Engineering, UC Berkeley, through partnerships with the Dado and Maria Banatao Centre for Global Education and Outreach from Berkeley Engineering (GLOBE), the Sutardja Centre for Entrepreneurship and Technology (SCET) and the Jacobs Institute for Design Innovation (JIDI).

The partnership entails information exchange in the areas of engineering education, particularly in the areas of technology-based entrepreneurship and design innovation.

This partnership seeks to establish centres of design, innovation and entrepreneurship at SRM aimed at fostering a vibrant ecosystem of innovation in Amaravati. “We aim to bring a confluence of international ideas, technological innovation, and social impact to the region,” SRM University president P. Sathyanarayanan said in a press note released here.

“Technological innovations and engineering designs are ingredients that inspire young minds,” said Shankar Sastry, Dean of Engineering at UC Berkeley.
