HYDERABAD: The Union Minister for Agriculture and Food, Sharad Pawar, is likely to address the public meeting of Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) at Warangal on July 18.

Mr. Pawar, a supporter of separate Telangana, has been invited in keeping with the convention of the party to have national leaders of different shades whenever it organised public meetings, the Youth Services Minister, T. Harish Rao, said.

Meanwhile, the TRS legislature party secretary, Eatala Rajender, and senior leader, Desini Chinamallaiah, told reporters on Wednesday that the party would organise demonstrations near Collectorates in all Telangana districts against banning of toddy depots in municipalities and district headquarter towns.

They expressed apprehensions that the ban might be extended to villages.

Mostly in Telangana

They said the TRS was taking the lead in launching the agitation against the ban since toddy tapping was mostly confined to Telangana. Eighty per cent of the activity was carried out in the region.

If there was adulteration, it was the responsibility of the Government to check it, they added.
