Security guard shoots self?

HYDERABAD DEC. 4. A security guard of Anurag, a Defence Ministry Institute located at Kanchanbagh, B.B.S. Chauhan (55), reportedly committed suicide by shooting himself with his service weapon on Wednesday midnight. According to the Santoshnagar police, the victim was on night duty between Tuesday midnight and 2 a.m. on Wednesday. When his colleague came to relieve him, Chauhan was found in a pool of blood with a bullet injury on his neck. He was immediately shifted to a private hospital where he died while undergoing treatment. Out of the 20 rounds in his self-loading rifle, one was found missing. A native of Uttara Pradesh, the victim lives here alone.

Woman run over by train; child saved

A housewife, Fatima Begum, who was crossing the railway track near Begumpet station on Thursday along with her 18-month-old daughter, died on the spot after she was hit by a train. The infant escaped unhurt as the mother pushed her away after noticing the approaching train in last minute, the Secunderabad Railway Police said. The victim was a resident of Begumpet.
