Commuters of a Vijayawada-Guntur Metro Express bus were in for a surprise on Thursday when they saw RTC Chairman Varla Ramaiah sitting on the front seat. Mr. Ramaiah travelled by the bus from Vijayawada to Guntur to experience the pros and cons of the journey and interacted with the passengers seeking their feedback on the services.

He asked the commuters if they were happy with the facilities being extended by the corporation, and said they must feel free to share their travel problems, if any.

Mr. Ramaiah said with passenger safety as top priority, the corporation had been bringing in changes in a phased manner to improve its services.

Regional Manager P.V. Rama Rao and others were with Mr. Ramaiah. Earlier at the Pandit Nehru Bus Station, he said the employees and the bus crew must focus on extending the best services to the public. At the Guntur bus station, he went around the shops and other facilities to assess if the public was satisfied with the transport organisation.
