Police to impart training to aspirants for Central forces

First batch with CPOs begins at training centre

Collector P.S. Pradyumna and Superintendent of Police (SP) S.V. Rajasekhar Babu here on Monday launched a special coaching centre for the youth and community police officers (CPOs) aspiring to join the paramilitary forces.

Speaking at the inaugural session of the programme at the Nagaiah Kalakshetram, Mr. Babu said that as part of people-friendly policing, the district police had started the classes for aspiring youths with the coordination of expert trainers from police training colleges.

Target 500

The coaching would be imparted at the District Police Training Centre in Chittoor and Piler. Over a hundred CPOs had joined the coaching apart from the youth. “Our prime objective is to send at least 500 youths from Chittoor district to the paramilitary forces such as the BSF, the CRPF, the Assam Rifles and the ITBP, from the current batch. For now, the coaching is for those who cleared are physically eligible,” said Mr. Babu.

Mr. Pradyumna said it was a great opportunity for unemployed and enthusiastic youths to get the free coaching. Deputy SPs N.T.V. Ram Kumar, Chidananda Reddy, Subba Rao, inspectors from Chittoor, Puttur, Madanapalle and Palamaner sub divisions took part in the event.
