VISAKHAPATNAM: The Central Prison authorities at Adavivaram here have asked the Anantapur police to provide escort to Maddelacheruvu Suryanarayana Reddy alias Suri, prime accused in the Paritala Ravindra murder case.

The case was adjourned for June 16 and the Anantapur police have been asked to provide escort to Suri, the Superintendent of Central Jail, B. Sunil Kumar, told The Hindu

"He's fine"

``He is OK. There are no problems," the official said when asked how Suri was in the jail. None of Suri's family members came here to meet him but an advocate from Anantapur met Suri a few days ago.

It may be recalled that Suri was brought here on May 21 under heavy police escort as the Election Commission directed the Anantapur police authorities to shift him away from the district in view of the by-poll to Penukonda Assembly constituency.

He was to be produced in the Anantapur magistrate court on June 3, but could not be produced due to security reasons the court was informed.
